Full Walkthrough
This walkthrough takes you through a complete first run, from the moment you launch the game to the first ending. It is written to keep the big twist intact: you’ll know what to do at every step without being told what it all means. The second path is covered separately in the True Ending Guide.
Before You Start
- If you haven’t started yet, you can play the game on our home page and keep this walkthrough open in another tab.
- Use a mouse and keyboard.
- Keep your sound on. Silence and sound are both used on purpose here.
- Set aside about twenty minutes (time for every goal is in the How Long to Beat) and don’t alt-tab away from the final screen when you get there.
Step 1: The Publisher’s Note
The game opens with no music and no art, just a typed message from the “publisher.” They explain that they bought a used laptop, found this game on it, played it and felt it would be a shame to let it end up in the trash, so they released it. They also mention that it was made for someone named Alice.
Read it properly. This note is the outer frame of the whole story, and the silence is intentional. The game wants your full attention before anything cute happens.
Step 2: “Are You Alice Print?”
Next, the game asks whether you are Alice Print. This is the first real choice, and it has two outcomes:
- Yes: the game continues and you move on to the love story.
- No: you get a short, funny reaction and the game won’t let you continue. Doing this unlocks an achievement, and doing it three times unlocks another. The full route is in the 100% Achievement Guide.
For a normal first run, answer Yes. If you want the refusal achievements, you can grab them now and then say yes to continue.
Step 3: The Diary Notes
Before each minigame, you read a short diary-style note written from the perspective of the girl the game was made for. They describe small, sweet moments, accompanied by birdsong. Don’t skim them. They set up each test and, on a second playthrough, they read very differently.
Step 4: Love Test One, Holding Hands
The first test is about the first step in getting close to someone: holding hands. Your goal is to guide your hand onto hers and keep contact as she moves. A meter fills while you stay connected.
- Move smoothly. Jerky, overcorrecting movements lose contact.
- Anticipate her movement rather than chasing where she was.
- If contact breaks, re-establish it calmly; the meter isn’t punishing.
Step 5: Love Test Two, The Dress
The second test is a shopping date. She describes the dress she wants, and you have to pick the one that matches her request out of a small set of options. It is a “how well do you know her style” test.
- Read the request fully before clicking. Color and pattern both matter.
- Compare the options side by side. They’re designed to be close.
- Accuracy matters more than speed.
Step 6: Love Test Three, The Heartbeat
The last test takes place on a date and is a simple rhythm game. Two hearts slide toward each other from opposite sides of the screen and speed up as they approach. Click at the exact moment they overlap to make the two hearts “beat as one.”
- Watch the hearts, not the rest of the screen.
- Listen to the music. The timing follows the beat, which some players liken to Rhythm Heaven.
- Don’t click early out of nerves; the overlap window is fair.
Step 7: The First Ending
Pass all three tests and the story wraps up with the ending most players see first. Its achievement is Infinite Loop Detected. Ironically, this is the happier of the two endings. The game’s own store copy warns that not every ending feels like an ending, and this is the one that hints at it.
Important: don’t close the game immediately. If you stay on the final screen, a harsh, modem-like noise eventually plays. It is not a glitch. It’s the first real key to the game’s deepest secret, covered in the Oxytocin guide.
Step 8: What Happens Next
After the first ending, the publisher comes back with more to say. The frame story reveals there is another way to play the love tests and that it leads somewhere else. You can follow that hint right away or try to work it out yourself first, which reviewers recommend. When you’re ready, the True Ending Guide covers the second run.
Checklist for a Complete First Run
| Step | Done when |
|---|---|
| Publisher’s note | You’ve read the full opening message. |
| Alice question | You answered Yes (optionally after refusing for achievements). |
| Diary notes | You’ve read all three. |
| Three love tests | All passed. |
| First ending | Infinite Loop Detected unlocked. |
| Final screen | You waited and heard the modem-like sound. |
First-Run Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping the opening note. It explains the frame story, and the second ending makes much less sense without it.
- Looking things up mid-run. The first ending lands best when you don’t know what’s coming. Save the guides for afterwards.
- Closing the game at the credits. The final screen keeps going if you wait. Many players miss the hidden sound entirely because they quit too fast.
- Ignoring the trash bin. It isn’t part of the main path, but its notes add context and one of them starts the secret puzzle. See Trash Bin Notes.
- Playing on a controller. Reported prompt mismatches can make simple tests feel broken.
- Can I fail a test on my first run? You can, but passing everything is the natural first experience and gives the second path its impact.
- Is there a wrong answer that ends the run? Only refusing to be Alice stops the game, and that’s by design.
- How long is the first run? Around fifteen to twenty minutes if you read everything.
